Developer Video4Coach gave SkillCapture automated video capture, displays, compression, and upload capabilities so that it can help teachers and coaches with their job. Or to put it in other words, SkillCapture uses video – a full automated system for video capture, display, compression and upload – to help you teach or coach sports skills.

SkillCapture supports multiple Windows editions: Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista Service Pack 1, and Windows 7. To install SkillCapture on top of these Windows editions, you will first have to download a 9.2Mb executable, then run it, and then click through the simple instructions a setup wizard presents onscreen.

The application can capture video clips, as was already mentioned above. It must be added that there are several ways to start the video capture: motion detection, SkillChip registration, SkillChip registration and detection, by using a wireless presenter, or by using the keyboard shortcut.

Once you have the video capture, you can playback the video. Here it must be said that you can upload the video to YouTube, draw on the video, rate the performance in the video, or adjust the playback skills. SkillCapture automatically compresses the video so that it does not take up a lot of space on your disk and so it can be easier to upload it to the web.

Use SkillCapture’s functionality to analyze performance and improve an athlete’s capabilities.

Pros

Installing SkillCapture on a Windows-powered machine takes little time and effort. There are multiple ways to start the video capture process. The video is compressed, making it easier to upload it to the web. Use the video for teaching or coaching purposes. SkillCapture is freeware.

Cons

None that I could think of.
